From September 12-13, 2016 at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Secretariat in Geneva the annual Advisory Committee (AC) and Management Committee (MC) meeting of the WMO/Global Water Partnership (GWP) Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM) will take place.

The purpose of the two-day meeting is to review APFM activities for the year 2015/2016 and proposed activities for the year 2016/2017. Particular attention will be given to the Integrated Flood Management (IFM) Help Desk and its activities as well as outreach conducted by APFM.

This meeting will be followed on September 14, 2016 by the Joint Meeting of the Advisory and Management Committees of the APFM and the Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP).

WWF and the Environment and Disaster Management program provide support to the IFM Help Desk and drew from the IFM tool series in the development of the Natural and Nature-based Flood Management: A Green Guide. We look forward to learning about the outcomes of this meeting and what 2016/2017 holds for APFM.
